I would think that the holiday would make things lighter, load-wise.

I don't know about that. Plurk is lean on notifications. But I tell you what, my attention has certainly leaned toward Plurk lately.

Twitter has become significantly less busy, lately. But, I think Plurk and Twitter address somewhat different demographics.

Though, certainly, there is overlap.
