I *think* these are Carolina Silverbells, a native plant

Straight view to the back gate that opens onto the side walk on the street behind the house.

This tree is the centerpiece and was probably part of the original landscaping of the home.

I had a picture of a rose hedge that was probably part of the original or nearly dates back to original landscaping

It looks like a cross of a wild semi-double very old rose. Damned pic turned out blurry

You really should B.E. - not all of Portland is ugly. There is still a lot of community involvement here despite the bad rap the place gets
