orchestra was great. i played violin and viola when i was younger. we all ended up having a good time, especially when we played cool music

didn't stick with it long enough. violin 3 weeks, piano and drums through jr high. didn't get into fun stuff early enough & quit too early

give your kid a guitar. introduce them to jimi hendrix. outside box thinking will ensue.

the violin never did it for me. my wife rolled her eyes when i called it a girl instrument.

just to clarify though... there are plenty of dandy fiddle players out there guys included, that play some great stuff..keep fiddlin!
