my sons father works for an oil company and believe it or not they have told refinery workers layoffs could be possible b/c of high costs

They aren't making any more money on gasoline. They are profiting mainly on exploration and drilling since that oil is worth 2-3 times more

its not helping the stock price, thats for sure.

they still "missed" analyst projected earnings, so the stock is down.

I am obviously in the wrong damn business.
