I need some input from fellow Linux geeks that use a firewall - ipcop is getting old (no updates in a year) what do you use?

I've tinkered with ufw (Ubuntu FireWall) it seems pretty decent. sets up pretty easy. what distro are you using

I'm talking about a firewall appliance, not a desktop. This is a stand-alone firewall distro called ipcop.

Ipcop is a fork of smoothwall, so I am leaning in that direction. Also am looking at Gibraltar, Astaro, Untangle, and m0n0wall to name a few

I keep asking myself why I stopped using Gentoo, then I just install it again.

No, that would be when you use unstable. I did the same a while back and switched to the stable branch and all was fine.

really? a year ago a coworker switched off of gentoo because they kept breaking opengl on intel video. all he touched was stable.

well it is possible to roll back an update in getoo, especially is you have 'buildpkg' in you features.
