my 11 year old knew signing when he was little because of a speech issue. I don't think he remembers any of it now.

I used to think signs were a crutch for my now-4yo, but it turned out he had a general speech delay, so signs actually helped

how exciting ... I used to love when Little 'Ny would sign "love"

he would refuse to speak and would sign instead. But now I think he signed instead bc he COULDN'T speak, not bc he was too "lazy"

I heard about that ... it is a draw back to the sign language

babygirl is too young to talk. I wasn't expecting to communicate with her for months and months yet

I also debated teaching my little one sign - we only knew one other baby who learned it, and she did use it at a "crutch"

she didn't start talking until about the age of 3, and even then it was very little...

that made us nervous about baby signing

babygirls major form of communication was biting. so um...yeah..we went for signing lol
