The Vesper according to Ian Fleming and James Bond:
latest #13
Ingredients:
* 3 measures of Gordon's Gin
* 1 measure of vodka
* 1/2 measure Kina Lillet
* lemon peel for garnish
Thanks Keith, sorry about the disagreement. I was wrong.
No they said there are a few different ones in the movies. So what I want to know is if you bruise the gin when shaken then
why does he get it that way?
Bruise the gin. That's a load of shit. A martini must be shaken in order to aerate the drink allowing the flavors to come out propperly.
I may not know traditional bar vocabulary and technique but I do know what makes a tasty beverage. And, I must say, the Vesper is awesome!
You have to adjust the recipe a bit to make it taste like the original since Gordons has reformulated and Kine Lillet is no longer available
Use Tanqueray Stolichnaya and lillet blanc but you have to ad a dash of bitters since the lillet no longer contains enough quinine.
The lemon peel really makes the drink.
Ah, I should have known Modzilla would be the one to go to to get the lowdown.
If I went to London I might be able to get the better Gordons Gin. Like that would ever happen.
