I mean, it's just Chrome, the browser. There's a way to get to a cmd prompt, but not much you can do there.

yes, I found the gdgt VM - I have it up and running in Parallels now
zyrcster says

not much to do with it, eh? ;-)

no, I quickly got bored :-)

that OS essentially mimics 75% how i use my computer, which is currently with a bunch of Fluid SSBs handling various web services and apps.

i just can't see how one could do any development using it, but i guess that isn't the point.

.. but it really it makes me consider getting a chrome powered netbook for "fun", and a *gasp* desktop for development and design.

probably cheaper than a top end laptop, between the two.
zyrcster says

yea, those were my thoughts, although google apps aren't as full featured as office, yet....
zyrcster says

... so, using chrome for that sort of stuff still isn't that feasible, unless your needs are super basic.

I haven't had a chance to try out office web yet though.

i kinda want a netbook still for bike weight conservation reasons... dual booting with chrome would be nice for when I just need the net?
striatic says

dual booting won't be necessary. workflows will adapt and web apps will improve greatly.

well it's hard to develop with chrome, for chrome. That is a problem.
striatic says

you can run it in emulation, and really you're just going to be developing for web.
