anyway, I was mostly surprised there was no Forum backlash on the blog post that went up today.

I posted about it in the Fuzzy Bunny group, if that helps. but I didn't throw you (or anyone) under a bus.

my comment was that it pointed clearly to the fact that Flickr rightly doesn't see apps like that as "copyright stealing"

yup, that about sums it up.

i've been on the other side of the fence at times... with some apps... but luverly is an absolutely LUVERLY example of implementation

click-backs all where they should be, a per user opt-out mechanism etc etc.

its great to showcase the ones that do it well.

the only annoyance I have (and this is API centric)... is that their opt-out relies on you authenticating the app...

"here is all my crap" - "please don't show my crap" ???

the opt-out really needs to be at the flickr/key level and not the app level, this is why.

I'm impressed that they do such a great job with their app that they gained 5x the authd users they had prior to the blog post....

... yet their qps didn't spike. Well designed.
