what would you say to hype... image... style... in teaching. To what extent should teachers be cutting edge (in more than just technology)
for clarification: I believe we need to not focus on "cutting edge" as much as connecting with our students in a manner that they learn??
I really talk to my kids like they are people. We laugh and joke. The more I move around and change my voice, the more engaged they are.
I don't tell them everything about me, but they know enough to know that I'm a person and not someone to be afraid of.
I think that hype or image ≠ cutting edge. But I do believe that we *always* need to be on the cutting edge. Grow or grow stagnant.
