Sasypants my stats tell me that the only group I should add my pics to is Fabulously Free in SL.

MouseMimistrobell: if they get you eyeballs, then that is something, if you can look at older pics, stats changed mid jan, so you may not get to go back far, but it is something you can monitor now and get more of a feel for it, maybe see if there are some you are not in that you might get more attention in

MouseMimistrobell: thank you for reading it, I really hope it sheds some light, Sydd just commented in the post and OMG on what she says, about some stores making bloggers add to 100+ groups. I am so glad I did that post now, just to have that horrible thing out there.

I tried doing a lot of groups and its mind numbing. I typically lose the will after 60. I have trouble remembering which group is which. I try HARD not to add to the wrong group. I've never done more than 75.

You mention it, but I could not emphasize enough how much I dislike people posting in groups that have no relationship to your picture. I went to a group a few weeks back and didn't find a picture that fit the guidelines until the third page. It's clearly been abandoned by it's admin and folks just randomly post.

but literally getting most of my daily hits from fabfree's group

no like out of x amount of views in the entirety of my account here is what groups gave me the most views

as an aggrate not just individal pictures, but of all time

and pictures

it does not go back that far, they only started with going back 9 months recently, like january, so the data would not exist really...also they do daily for the all things in groups etc, you can get all time views but not group stats

okay that makes more sense

but that is just the drop down at the top, for You then stats

so this is just a thing you would want to look at every few days if you feel like it to see if you are working your fingers to the bone for now reason, because again at the end of the days, you can get such random views from years ago and that might be a customer in the making

do statistics matter? I use Flickr as a bit of an organised storage for my pictures. A bit of an annotated archive for myself. I don't care about views or favs.

ok so i looked a bit more into this and this will actually save me a lot of work just adding my pics to groups that actually provide some traffic. i usually add to 60ish groups, which is a lot of clicking work lol and actually i would do just fine just adding my pics to 10

i'll keep an eye on it for now and find out which groups are getting me the most hits and then will probably do a huge purge

sjonsvenson: that was how we originally used it, which is in the post, it then became something more to people and a lot of pressure has been added, that I think was a bit confusing, thinking it did matter, and that is why I did the post, to let people really look and see if it does anything for them at all in the way they think it is meant to.

IzzieButton: I am so so glad, that is exactly what I wanted people to get out of it, it was not to make out that groups do not help, but that you are directing that focus and energy the right way, that makes me so happy that that will save you time ♥
