I also really love that Kelly Thompson seems to be doing the Gail Simone thing of only having Dinah bust out the scream when she really needs it instead of just having her rely on the scream for most things the way that many other writers do.
I'm enjoying the art on Birds of Prey, honestly. Last month was a bit of a misstep in that the art looked a little muddled and muddied for the first time, but otherwise, visually, the book very much as its own look and feel this time around, and it's very appealing.
But I also know that Thompson is VERY specific on the authors that she will work with, and I think that definitely helps because she's clearly going for a specific vibe with the book.
it always just seems like a waste to me when all the characters in comics look the same. I understand that some of it is that the fast-pace doesn't give the artists a lot of time to do things like "distinguish multiple body types", but also: come on
purkle: It's been one of my favourite things DC has been putting out lately! It feels like a return to form for the team and Kelly Thompson really seems to get them.
