I AM A HISTORY WIZARD.
One of the house museums I work at, the last family moved into in 1885. Husband, wife and 3 daughters. Only one daughter married and had kids.
Her descendants had staff visit the summer house the daughter & husband built in 1907-27(ish) to look & take clothes that they said were hers.
It was super cool. They built all of it themselves (very big arts & crafts movement folks, she was a carpenter and he did landscape design) it’s stupid cool and artsy
Anyway, when I brought home covid last month I was supposed to go and help date shit. So they sent me pictures instead (I went later too). Margaret was born in 1879.
That 4 piece set is 1860s. Way before her. So either her mother in law or her mother. I just felt it was her mother Elizabeth’s.
BITCH I WAS RIGHT. There’s her granddaughter (Margaret’s daughter) wearing it.
