for a lot of them you can't trade
but hi5, I finished my living dex earlier in the year thanks to zarude event in pokemon go
Celebi, Genesect, Hoopa, Volcanion, Magearna, Marshadow, Zeraora, Zarude
If you have pokemon ultra sun/moon you can get magerna
it was a qr code that's still active
I'm trying to get them through Pokemon Go, but it seems like most of the events are both paid, and pokeballs seem like a very limited resource.
(that said, I guess I need Poke Go friends to get further?)
oh pokemon go is suffering
...I don't have Ultra Sun or Moon
oh... I'm looking through pokemon home now to see what I've got
thanks so much. (I sorta have a Volcanion through a wonder trade but it's obviously hacked with a website
I'd like a legit one, you know?
Ffff
Pokego Mythicals are largely untradeable
Yeah, most mythicals are untradable. you get a 'this is a special pokemon and cannot be traded' message
Volcanion, Magearna, and Zeraora haven't been released yet
Marshadow is coming out this weekend, but you have to have paid for the Go Fest ticket
yeah. I'm sad that I missed all the event distributions for them.
yeah, I have like 3 go genesects and they're greyed out
Celebi recently had a pay-to-play ticket for a shiny one, but the non-shiny version should become available in Pokego once you complete the Mew quest
can't trade qr code magearna eiether
Genesect cycles through raids fairly frequently. I'm Lasafara on discord, and if you poke me I might be up for a remote raid when it comes around, or I can invite you. We'll need to exchange friend codes
Hoopa should ALSO be in a free quest, but you might have to finish other quests to gain access
I think Hoopa is locked behind the celbi quest and that one has some bs where you need a rl friend to help with?
like, I guess if you have the cash to buy an old gameboy and old games and mod it to get the old releases you can get the mythicals but I don't have the hundreds for that
yeah, I am so stuck on the Celebi quest
celebi/hoopa shouldn't need rl friends, did it? i finished both of those and i've never played with anybody
(I figured it was worth a try, and it didn't seem like a big expense.)
Celebi needs you to do trades, and niantic decided you have to be close to people to trade
It'a annoying you can't trade them because I have multiple celebi and genesect
how weird maybe i'm crazy
ah. Well, if nothing else, some of the research I'm stuck on asks me to send gifts to friends, and maybe I could trade for some regular pokemon I need to get other research done?
My Go friends code is 9733 0667 7619
you have to be within like 10 km to trade with someone even if you're friends
but you can send gifts regardless of distance, right?
oh god the stardust costs
1 mil stardust to trade an unregistered ledgendary
Okay so you have to be careful with this, and all that, but there is a very robust trade economy on eBay. If you are stuck on a quest that requires a trade, go on eBay and look up something somewhat uncommon but not rare, and it'll probably cost you about $2. It involves spoofing (aka, you're buying from a spoofer), and they'll want your location,
which I would suggest for safety's sake be a public location, but.
If you don't mind the morality issues of spoofing and you're careful, you should be okay. I've talked to people who've done it for like. Regionals and shit, and apparently it's easy and fairly safe, provided you're not the one spoofing and you don't do it often
If you do it for something you've got registered, trading costs like 400 stardust. If it's a Nothing Special Pokémon, aka not a legendary, mythical, purified, or event Pokémon, then unregistered you're looking at like 20k I think. Or maybe 40k. That's why I'd suggest a regional
My wife and I trade a LOT, and like. As long as it's something we both have it's a nothing burger to trade
and for gifts I just need people on my friends list? (that's one of the ones I've got to clear for research "send gifts to 3 friends")
and receiving gifts might help me with my pokeball scarcity situation? I can't walk far, so I can't grab very man pokestops, and those only give a couple balls at a time
gifts definitely help with pokeball inventory... normally, you can open up to 20 gifts in a day, but Niantic raises that limit from time to time for certain events
I sent you a friend request. I'm SailorGundam.
I will say this... what some people do, if you have trusted long distance friends, and someone has a second mobile device like a tablet or an old phone they're using on WiFi, you can log in to each other's accounts to trade. Just make sure you've done everything you want to do for the day because you need to wait a certain amount of time before you can log--
back in to that same account on your own device again.
I may need to do that eventually
anyway accepted and sent a gift!
with your permission, I'll give your friend code to my wife. She will happily send gifts, and generally speaking if I'm available to raid she is too.
