As someone who only figured this out a couple months ago, the webcomic you're thinking of is probably an earlier project by the same creator where the characters who would end up in HB first appeared, but the canons have all changed and if you try to go down that rabbit hole you will become confused

The author of T’s canon is like that too.

I honestly find the easiest approach is to acknowledge the actual TV show and nothing else or you get severely lost in the weeds
