Question! So I've had some gear sitting in my retainers for god knows how long. Can't turn it in for company seals, can't desynth it, can't put it in armoire, can't sell..........is there any other thing I might be able to do with it or should that just be discarded?

Either there’ll be some other means of purchasing/farming it again, or you’ll be able to buy it back from the Calamity Salvager.
Yeah, the Brand-New stuff you can get by rerunning Hall of the Novie, and the Tekko can be repurchased from the calamity salvager

Level 70 job gear can be repurchased from the calamity salvager as well. Level 60 job gear can be a little more inconvenient to require because you need to trade Centurio Seals for it.
But yeah you can discard pretty freely in this game. As long as it didn’t come from a time-locked event, you can always either buy it back or just redo the thing that you did to get it in the first place.
