I will say, as someone who has never watched any of the xmen movies, never taken in a single fox marvel movie, I still hooted and hollered at some of those god damn cameos. and the SURPRISE ones!!! fuck!!!

also, this intro credits sequence? you really can't top the original, and it doesn't do the cheeky thing of insulting everyone, but visually it's fucking great, probably better than the 2nd one

soundtrack? amazing

also like, I love going to first showings bc I'm FOMO supreme but usually thursday afternoons are dead zones

thing that surprised me but in hindsight it should not have been at all: oh no mr paradox is fucking great, the faces this man makes

second biggest surprise: I was the only one I heard giving a hoot of laughter at dp calling gambit hawkeye if he had superpowers

not at all surprised there wasn't a loki (variant or no), nor mobius, nor any yggdrasil. shame, but not surprised

I was kinda waffling about seeing it first thing today, or today at all, cuz it's the first day of a long several days of work, and I knew i had to take an early show cuz I gotta go to bed early, but man I'm gonna RIDE this high. it can be as busy as it gd wants the next three days, I won't give a fuck. this shit great. fuck yeah.

bff kind of wanted to see it with me but she won't be able to until next weekend at best but I WILL GLADLY WATCH IT AGAIN

also, an aside, yes the brave new world trailer was shown, yes it was edited for theatrical releases to not show the attempt specifically on the president's life, yes I did think it was kind of funny to notice

but also god wow just the small single digit young children. the first trailer was for smile 2. they had the redband trailer for alien romulus.

tho in a fit of You Can't Write Real Life, the part where cassandra's in logan's head and promising to silence everything, and everything goes silent? that's when one of the kids started bawling, and swear to god for half a second I thought it was a poignant thing to be cutting through in logan's head in spite of her powers until I realized--lol

plus between marvel snap and trying out marvel rivals for uh a few unexpected hours this afternoon I'm just marveling at all the marvel (I don't understand how everyone works yet, but scarlet witch rules) (also yes it's exactly overwatch. it's just overwatch. it's reskinned overwatch.)

man also I'm just reminded bc I was looking up hugh jackman after explaining to my brother that him sweaty and shirtless and ripped af made me go 'mm hm no you know what yeah I'm with dp I think I get it', and man

the first wholeass minute of the greatest show is still probably the hottest thing ever

and then that song goes into a major key and turns into a generic pop song with some pretty awful effects and I'm so glad I listened to the soundtrack and realized the best thing out of it was the first minute of the entire album and I would've wasted my time ever watching it

but my god is that minute hot af to watch and also to hear

I forgot the album version is so much longer and also does a lot more interesting shit in the buildup
