So I've done all of the role quests, and ranked from worst to best...

Physical Ranged DPS. It was boring as hell. Really. Even as far as joke villains went, it just didn't make sense. All we were told to do was hit strong shield really hard until it breaks and... Yeah I just didn't vibe with it. The struggles didn't matter, the NPC you were paired with didn't learn anything, and overall it was just checking boxes to get it

done. Overall I think it's the only outright BAD role quest

Tank: This is one where we sorta felt redundant because we were alongside another tank. That said, the villain of the questline had an interesting motivation (completely destroying the reputation of the Ishgardian Knights to destablize Ishgard while using the thing that got her exiled against them, which was falling asleep on the job), and I actually really

enjoyed the lore bits of the Wide Eye and the Shut Eye too. The stolen tool that causes sleep by sapping Aether was also clever, and the return of the Vanu Vanu using their Sundrop Dance to help counter the effects was a fun touch

Caster: There were a lot of Don Quixote shenanigans going on with the villain summoning rocks to solve all of his problems. Seriously, that's what his relic did, it summoned rocks. Rocks fall everyone dies cliche here. The NPC travelling with you was fun to follow him because she mocked Don Quixote villain relentlessly and even

accidentally hit him in the head with a rock, which was great.

Healer: The whole questline was USE ESUNA, IDIOT. In spite of that, I enjoyed how silly it was. The villains were basically a mix of Team Rocket and the Joker, causing chaos just because they wanted to but were relatively incompetent at it because healers can USE ESUNA, IDIOT. The NPC learning about how some Lalafell have built immunity to toxins was good

as well, and it led to her thinking about how to use the poison-causing artifact to help her people not be wholly reliant on producing a million tones of antidotes

Melee: Hands down the funniest role quest line. Relic allowed the villain to change his appearance and he used it to try and cause fighting and chaos, even trying to impersonate us in order to start a war. He's also the only one who managed to murder an NPC we never got to meet, so already a bigger threat than the others. Also, the NPC we accompany does

have a lot of major character growth, ranging from imposter syndrome to figuring out WTF visual aids are (girl was near-sighted and needed glasses to become an effective archer), and it had the most amazing (to me) call backs towards the end. Loved it.

Also, when he impersonated us? Only time ICly I've seen the WoL lose their temper and I kinda love it

Melee questline was 9/10 for me, only thing missing was more Namazu almost-but-not-quite getting maimed with arrows
