[random stuff] Hold music really does have that perfect vibe of being in an elevator with a balky washing machine, three blenders, and five vaccums running in there at the same time.
...Huh. Just realized Koi Farm was taking up a huge amount of my CPU and Firefox loads much faster when it's not running in the background. This is good to know, though it means I can't have multicolored fish proliferating in the background while I use my browser.
I'm not sure if it's quite what you're looking for, but if you're looking for critters to do stuff while you do stuff, Creatures Docking Station might be worth a look? The base game is free and there's TONS of mods for it out there.
cannibalherpes So the lawn question! Right now I'm in a climate where most of the successful lawns are crabgrass. There are large bare spots on this lawn and the topsoil seems thin and dry with sand underneath.
I've been told that the bare spots are because of the three huge trees shading the entire yard whose thick, wide leaves prevent a lot of the rain from reaching the ground while the roots suck up what does get through,
so the ground ends up chronically dry despite lots of rain. I've recently had to have a bunch of the roots chopped out to stop foundation/sidewalk/driveway damage.
so that's basically the issue: the existing grass is not being successful and I've been told it's because the trees make the ground too dry. This isn't urgent at all; I won't be proactively fixing this very soon because doing more time-sensitive things, but it'd be good to know some terminology when I do get to it.
(..Tbh, right now, I'm more interested in Knowledge Exposition than solutions, so anything that comes to your and/or Sergio's mind about this is welcome. ^^)
