ok, I read it and it really seems like the time for monsters to be around is limited enough that my vision of SMID blabbing to several different people, or over a communicator, is not within the spirit of the event. I might still do a single encounter and try to coordinate it for max effect (real ones remember "Memory of Misty Quigley")

but I still haven't even contacted Iddy about this anyway.

the Otherworld is the collective area, so everyone is there at the same time

the Fog World is the isolation/intermediary stage, where they're all alone and there's no actual monster sightings

basically the Fog World eventually morphs completely into the Otherworld, it's a transition from normal barge > spooky isolation > monster hell

The main part I'm concerned about is days 5-6 the otherworld monsters "don't engage" like... I'm trying to follow the guideline of more specific people monsters being on days 5-6 but then the interactions aren't supposed to be as extended?

there aren't really "generic" silent hill monsters bc they're all shaped by the protag's fears/traumas, but there's plenty to choose from that might line up with your character's specific traumas

so days 5-7 there will be monsters, more frequently as it goes on with day 7 being Maximum Monster

but it seems like monsters will just be less violent/active in the early days

so SMID might be chill and normal and Totally Passable For Regular Misty in days 5-6 but then get really disturbingly intense on day 7, if that helps

When my understanding was like days 1-4 fog days 5-6 people monster interactions in small pockets day 7 faceless* monsters interactions in a space spanning the whole ship, I was okay with it

* not literally all faceless, but complying with the examples where it's often not a specific person

I was reading the "wont engage" as like you're supposed to literally glimpse them from a distance without dialogue orz

But if it's more like "days 5-6 monsters won't engage violently, or be particularly tangible, not vulnerable to harm" and it's also like "days 5-6-7 can be Same Monsters" then that's... I didn't wanna say fine/okay more like "sufficiently similar to what I already planned "

you could definitely have her coming through on the communicators being spooky the entire Fog World time, is my understanding! but then she only physically appears day 5 onwards

basically, it might be that you're seeing the monsters in the Otherworld on days 5 and 6, but they might be on the other side of a grate, or moving in another direction, or partially communicative but otherwise apparently uninterested/nonviolent towards Bargeizens! but then on day 7 they're, like, FULLY aware of you and COMING for you with no barriers

(and you can certainly hear spooky things/communications from fogworld on!)

I think my current plan is to have a fully open "snippets of SMID" prompt so this can be as MESSY as possible, and then limited / locked prompts day 7 though I don't have all the volunteers I want and may need to go on another round of actively seeking more

ok, so even on days 5-6, there's rarely much danger, right? so the room would appear sorta normal, but it would feel and sound like they're in a chamber that's filling up with water from the outside, and if it fills up too much it'll pour over the edge into the chamber and That's Bad

maybe any containers in the room like vases start to overflow with water

that could also lead to puzzle stuff like a key floating in or out of reach

i'm sorry i keep laughing at SMID. smid
