I just had it explained to me that "government mandated fursona" which I thought was just a silly saying, is a reference to the fact that furries often mentally assign fursonas to their non-furry friends

my understanding has always been that furries are people who imagine themselves as nonhumans, & monsterfuckers are people who imagine themselves fucking nonhumans, & the Venn Diagram is pretty tight but not totally a circle
