What I thought would be a two-minute google has turned into half an hour of every keyword combination I could think of and still not finding any info on whether there even IS a phenomenon of bodily images impressed on burial shrouds other than the 9999999 articles on the Shroud of Turin, which is supposed to be supernatural adn should not be counted!

There's a lot of cool stuff about identifying fibers found with remains, decomposition leaving traces in soil, the kind of morbid stuff I know is morbid but still find interesting because they're non-obvious things we humans have managed to figure out about the natural processes we live with
