I'll admit it. My first thought was "Third time's the charm."

This can't become an acceptable thing, but it would be so nice to never hear his voice or see his stupid face again.

I know how you feel. But are we even sure the guy really wanted to shoot him? At this point, I don't put the idea of making up a new assassination attempt to gain get another spike of popularity past him... (unsure)

I can believe he might try, but it's probably hard to find someone willing to go to prison for it.

And at this point it's not clear that the suspect even fired his gun.

I heard a glimmer of this. Guess I'll have to go check the news feeds now.

Oh, I see now. The only shooting was proactive and preventative, and by the USSS. So 'assassination attempt' is just martyrdom spin.

Yep. I strongly advise the guy to say he just didn't trust the special services to properly care for that guy (reports I read said they were a couple of holes ahead of him...What? Where they playing too?), so he was trying to protect him, not kill him. There, end of story.

They have teams clearing the way and following up, so no, they weren't playing.

Tanarian: Yeah, I was joking along their ineptness during the last attempt. Besides, the guy has been charged with owning a gun when barred from it, and owning a gun with the serial number filed out, no charges (yet) related to an assassination attempt. (And if he can keep his mouth shut, there won't be any.)
