so clearly the scenario is that if Trump keeps getting shot, eventually Americans will be so numb that we just stop reporting on it at all,
just like school shootings
(I am trying not to think too pessimistically because the last time this happened we DID just move on after like three days)
I don't THINK so? shot AT maybe
From what I understand, there was a guy with a gun near his golf course and secret service killed him
he escaped and they apprehended him on the highway later
Boy do I hate relying on early reporting
the suspect was an "independent voter" who voted for Trump in 2016 and apparently fought in Ukraine
I'm weirdly glad it's just a crank then
the suspect is also 1000% into COVID conspiracy theories
Funny, isn't it, how we went for 43 years without an assassination attempt on a president or major presidential candidate, and how it only happened again to the guy espousing violent rhetoric.
It's almost like those two things are connected.
If news media had any fucking courage the headlines would be "why do Republicans keep trying to assassinate Donald Trump?"
meanwhile muskrat is like 'but where are the biden/harris assassins'
(Dude was apparently a Vivek and Haley supporter. So very much "independent")
I feel like after the first guy a whole category of person was like "oh wait we can just shoot him"
I wasn't in on the "it was staged" stuff first time around
I kind of want to live in the universe where he demanded a mulligan on his assassination attempt because he didn't get enough attention for it
