Also Norton thinks Abel's defining trait is being adorably overthinking

Abel would like to say that he's glad someone thinks it's adorable because it's terrible and he has trouble sleeping sometimes.

Hanna: Just...chatty boy
Abel (according to Aerith): Thoughtful, though sometimes to the point of hurting himself. Someone needs to help him with not going into thought spirals.
Abel (according to Chika): He's a paitent boy. And a sweetheart. Helps when dealing with a big dumb wolf.

Hanna: too fucking nice, cares too much

Abel: Kind. Intelligent and competant, too, but he really impressed her with NOT immediately wanting to resort to genocide with his deal.

he's been puzzling over that ever since John asked him after he died how he was ending the war with his request. he isn't sure what he's going to do.

It's super tough! It's totally a Starfleet style problem! She's absolutely going to lie awake at night thinking about possible solutions!!!

She's probably going to compile, like, all the logs about difficult diplomatic situations that are remotely similar in Starfleet history and give them to him.

good study material. he'd appreciate it.

Unfortunately I'm not enough of a Trekkie to know where to start with that so it will take some research on my end
Shell of a boy

you could also just handwave it xD I'm not expecting you to do research
omnomivore

Well it'd be kind of cool to find one or two relevant examples, but we can handwave it when she gives it to him and maybe I'll figure that out by the time he gets his deal lol

Fitz will take a while you have all the time in the world as Abel has said xD

I am, for the record, watching some classic Trek anyway
Shell of a boy

I cannot for the life of me remember classic trek even though I know I watched it with my dad when I was a kid
I have watched a ton of various treks, maybe I can think of one - what's the situation?
(only if you want ofc!)

Hivemind bug aliens are trying to eradicate humans and colonize Mars, Abel wants a solution that stops the war without necessarily genociding or mindfucking the aliens into submission.

Abel is probably a hero, and Iris thinks he's adorable

omnomivore the Organians imposing and enforcing the peace treaty between the Federation and the Klingon Empire, maybe?

Oh nice, I'll look into that, thanks!

Abel most certainly doesn't think of himself as a hero but a tool to use for the good of humanity. he's a very good boy who just wants to protect everyone.
Lady Stardust

that’s kind of what a hero is
Shell of a boy
shhhh naw, he's too boring to be that. or at least he thinks so. that and he feels that's perhaps a little too self important. he's got a lot of feelings about image and public perception. calling yourself a hero when you're really just one pilot in a giant fleet of pilots is embarrassing.
Lady Stardust

Oh yes. But that doesn’t make him not one

just don't say it to his face and he won't have to awkwardly stumble over denying it.
