But then Disney+ shows haven't had the best track record with sticking the landing. First two episodes hooked me with the campy spin and Kathryn Hahn's over-the-top performance, but I am hoping they know where they're taking this.
I wonder if YouTube could instead of trying to create series like they did back when YouTube Originals was a thing, if they could fund low budget films like how RackaRacka got Talk to Me made.
They could find YouTubers who really want to make a feature length film, like Chris Stuckman for instance, and create a small production house to help get those through the pipeline.
They'd have access to all the BTS stuff and making of footage, could follow the production from start to finish, do all the marketing on the platform. Sort of like how Matt Damon and Ben Affleck did Project Greenlight.
I mean Talk to Me was great, and if they could find more ideas like that it would be great. Wendigoon and Markiplier are both making their own feature length films, Why not be a part of that?
Apparently they've already started releasing this in small European and Asian markets already. It does not sound good. There are already cam versions of it.
Brian Taylor's style is also grating. If you've watched Crank or the second Ghostrider film, you've seen how he uses super-wide angle lenses with tons of distortion at the edges. It's really obnoxious.
