they've been saying "late september" for a while and they are finally actually handing them out
this is as of TODAY so unless you ordered them today you're good for another set!!!!!
ordered!! and don't forget there is a new booster out as well c:
so true!!!! from what i've heard (someone please get some actual sources for this bc mine are "the doctors my roommate works with" and i'm at work and can't dig 'em up myself) that getting the shot next month maximizes its efficacy over the holidays
... Firefox is telling me there's something shady about that link, which is weird because it's for the USPS
ha, well... that's awkward. USPS signed their own cert, which is a big no no in internet security, but also, it's the post office so I have a hard time thinking they did it because they were trying to trick people
having opened a po box recently, i assure you the usps does not have its shit nearly together enough to trick anybody
re, covid vaccine: whenever you decide to get it, remember that it takes 2 weeks to reach full protection. so if you're getting it for a large event or social gathering, make sure it's at least 2 weeks prior.
and don't forget your flu shot, too! you don't have to get them at the same time, but they're both recommended to get before the end of october
also for covid tests make sure you test NO LESS than 3 days after a suspected exposure, ideally day 3-5, then again 48 hrs after your first test because false negatives happen
the booster is no longer free, correct?
it depends on your insurance
a lot of the programs for people who are uninsured are not as available anymore unfortunately
but there are still some services out there i think
I really want to order some but I'm leaving the country in a couple weeks. X.x
yeah, republicans defunded the booster program for uninsured early D: it was supposed to last this year too
but the cdc did provide funding for county health departments, i'd check locally: your county health department may have a free or low cost vaccine program for uninsured adults
And also lol i just bought some
oh ya i should also say: some insurance providers will reimburse you for tests or let you get free ones
most insurance providers have ended that particular program afaik :\
kaiser still does it!! idk about other ones
sliding scale and low-cost health clinics might be able to help you get the shot at a lower cost too, if not right there they may know where to point you
i would recommend a local/county health dept, i know my parents were able to get them for free at theirs
if there's a medical school near you, you can also check and see if they do free/low cost vaccinations (the medical school i work at does them for free)
your local county health department will be running flu shot drives most likely! So they may be willing to help people get their covid boosters as well
I believe some libraries are also still giving out tests, I'd just google to find local ones
DNCMediaCollusion: lol what the fuck is your account, who the fuck are you, and do you even know what social media platform you're on
most of the people on this site are queer neurodiverse leftists with a large minority if not majority BIPOC and disabled.
deleted the responses and blocked them lmao ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
on the bright side that nonsense bumped this so now people who didnt do it already can go get their tests/vax lmfao
