I know it sounds like it might fill the DQB-shaped hole in my heart, and also that people are complaining you can't romance anyone which is to be frank a big selling point for me
I haven't seen a lot of it but a streamer I like has been playing it and it seems pretty streamlined and good quality of life stuff for a farm sim. Lots of cosmetic options, very cute Old Style Sailor-Moon-era shoujo art
I've been eyeing it for next time I have moneydollars
Yeah seems like it. I don't know how much of it is implemented right now, it's early access, but there's definitely a plot that's going somewhere
I'm feeling VERY aroace and judgmental today
I do regret to inform you that I'm like 90% sure romance is planned in a future patch but you know
That's ok! Also sun haven and paleo pines are decent romance-optional farming sims.
I also have bought Harvestella at some point, not sure how that ended up being received
That one's more of an rpg!
Paleo pines is very cute, queer-positive, and has dinosaurs. The dinosaurs have rare morphs that are pride flags.
I also like rpgs! the Dragon Quest Builders dream is a fusion of a farming/crafting/building game with an rpg, where friendship is important enough to be the headline relationship
(I'm out of DQ Builderses)
Harvestella has not enough farming for me, tbch.
romance is Planned, but I don't see why it'd be required in mistria. also, to me, friendship is definitely a headlining part of mistria. it's been a while since I played a farm game that made this much of an effort to make you feel like ur in a community where things happen without you
everybody likes each other, mostly, and has get togethers!! it's very nice
Mistria has a lovely mix of farming, animals, cooking, resource gathering, fishing, archeology, a bit of combat, magic, skills, and friendships making a difference.
You are not required to date, or even pushed to do so - it's simply an option. The town has optional group get togethers, and once a week merchants from outside town come in for a little market!
Blueprints and recipes are pretty abundant, you can pet the animals... it's a very relaxing and enjoyable game with a pretty extensive free demo.
ooh petting the animals...
There's a doggo in the local bathouse you can befriend with pets and hardboiled eggs! lol The farm animal options include: chickens, cows, ducks, horses, bunnies, sheep, alpaca, and... capybara.
If you want to engage in it, you can partake in animal husbandry to get cool color morphs of your farm animals.
(I have a pink rooster named Richard)
I tried the animal husbandry and found it Very addictive...show me my cute new animal...
Also you can become best friends with a dragon
I like Harvestella fairly well though I never finished it. It definitely is a squenix rpg as well as a farming game and that’s good with me because I get bored fast of farming sims
The fact that I never finished it doesn’t mean anything I’m terrible at finishing games
I'm gonna start Harvestella downloading, since I already have it
honestly, report back how harvestella is. i keep meaning to play it....
there's also a story to it, where you're restoring the town after a disaster because they can't get much help othet than funds from the capital, and you're helping an elder god dragon restore his power through helping the town (he gives you skills and upgrades)
very fun little game, romance is planned but like mint said the focus right now seems to be on fostering community and friendship
Okay so if you're looking for a DQB vibes mistria is good but is closer to harvest moon/sdv.
let me consult my rolodex.
Coral Island is more farming than RPG vibes BUT has a very robust catalogue of Things To Decorate With
Dinkum is Minecraft But Australian Animal Crossing and might hit just right
I am not particularly into decorating
Harvestella is...it's rune factory as done by square enix.
I did not particularly care for the twist but that does nto mean others will not.
Slime Rancher 1 and 2 are delightfully weird little games.
that said do not take this as a knock against mistria--mistria is GORGEOUS and lovely but if you are filling a DBQ shaped hole I am seeing if there are options in less very early access
(mistria has about a year and change worth of in-game content. which they are clear about so this is not shade.)
my time at sandrock might hit as well.
PERSONALLY I think I'd recommend Dinkum and My time at Sandrock for this particular itch
no I appreciate this! there are many games and I want information that compares them
I like this genre a normal amount
...I mean also DQB2 is on steam and made me cry like a baby /pos
yeah but I just finished a playthrough of it
the lack of a DQB3 is causing me harm
understandable. where is the dqb3 we deserve
anyway if I think of More I'll let you know but for that vibe I think that is my rec
ive been eyeing up the my time series purely off the fact that replaying dark cloud 2 has made me long for town builders
too often builders are like. fortnite style building which i just dont vibe with...
I've played... part of my time at portia
the kickstarter for the my time at evershine game has been taunting me all week
the smart responce would be to like. play a previous one or something but i keep Looking at it
nah you don't need to play them contiguously
I have already backed evershine I know what I am
well its the smart responce bc id get to play Now
