I'm alsoooo Maggie's roomie, woohoo!
My main fandom is Warriors but I am also a huge dork for xeno/exofiction (talking animal stories) in general, currently reading Ga'hoole for the first time after having completely missed it growing up. Other faves include Watership Down, David Clement-Davies assorted works, and the much more obscure Hunters Unlucky series by Abigail Hilton
Kind of kicking around possibly bringing a talking animal to CoB at some point, top contenders at the moment are Ezylryb from Ga'hoole (a grouchy old screech owl war hero) and Shaw from Hunters (an overworked and underconfident sea serpent)! We'll see though, I'm not claiming anyone new for at least a couple months.
UhhhhhHHH other stuff.....I'm a Gamer(tm) and regularly poke around both GW2 and FFXIV as a very casual player, feel free to give me a poke on Gethen Daybreak @ GW2 and/or Pife'zi Tiren/Siren @ FFXIV!
I also make ART some times as I think people have probably seen at this point, I do take commissions but they are closed currently on account of me being kind of dead between a double flu infection and this nightmare hurricane season. Mostly I draw animals but I do people too!
info here!
I'm also at my primary job rn (hotel work), so in and out of things a bit.
As mentioned elsewhere I had been thinking of moving away from DWRP entirely to focus on cat stuff on discord, but CoB is so severely up my alley I've decided to give it one more try with one of my favorite + oldest muses. ♡♡ Activity may be a little in and out while I'm getting situated but I have a lot of ideas cooking and would love to stick around!
On a tangentially related note, I also do tabletop stuff! My favorite game would have to be Wanderhome, a Redwall/Ghibli-inspired dice-free game about talking animals navigating a pastoral post-war world of small gods and kind people. But I also do DnD and the odd spot of White Wolf/Storyteller.
My favorite rolling system is PbtA (2d6); I'll be using it fairly often behind the scenes for my tags!
Other games I've enjoyed are 13th Age and Pathfinder (1e, haven't had a chance for 2e yet).
oh man someone else who has read David clement-Davies
I am also a Nature Guy, currently getting into home gardening and working on finding/making the time for hiking, birding, and local river clean-up. I think bugs/inverts are extremely cool and love to spoil my leopard gecko's feeder bugs as pets.
XENOFICTION FAN... I still need to check out hunters unlucky
IT'S SO GOOD. If you like DCD's Fire Bringer it's fantastic, I did not realize how sorely I had missed herd drama
I will also highly suggest the works of Clare Bell, who does talking cats in many of her books, and Meredith Ann Pierce who has a whole trilogy about a warrior unicorn society
Now I'm itching to reread firebringer
YES I have both on my reading list! Along with Bambi and a few other classics
I'm also a spectacularly slow/distractible reader though so it may take me a hot minute, lol
I'm planning to order some fresh copies of Fire Bringer and The Sight/Fell at the very least for eventual rereads here too-
