and lorn's lure. where did you land on that
Dome Keeper: It's pretty good but there's definitely a point at which you've played Enough
yeah I reached it around when I cleared all 16 guild challenges on normal
Lorn's Lure: I didn't complete it. I defeated it
It was tthe most adversarial realtionship I've ever had with a game but I WON
I was miserable for a lot of it but I WON
I am glad I stuck with it long enough to win, but I can't really recommend it to everyone
Crypt of the Necrodancer: MAN I should play that again. It rules
Deep Rock Galactic: ........honestly I might be done with DRG. I played a shit ton of it and I'm kinda bored
Yeah that sounds like Good Game Burnout, I did that with Stardew
I'll probably jump back in if they get something cool and new to add to it
If anyone needs a DRG senpai to play with
I will show you ALL the ropes
Rune Factory (any Rune Factory since there's like. 8 at this point.)
I have never played any of them but I understand they’re some kind of farming sim?
Yep. Their gimmick was that they were a cross between a farming sim and an RPG so you fought monsters and whatnot, but nowadays I think that's more common. (see: SDV, Fields of Mistria)
The series is slowly pivoting more and more to "RPG where you do farming" instead of "farming sim where you fight monsters" so there's that
Rynet_iii: since Eric didn't have awareness, I can also offer one - I'm upset that the random scene of the protag fighting a dragon with a hoe was only in the first two game openings instead of a series staple
That does seem like a missed opportunity
I was nervous about the parrying, a mechanic I’ve always been uncomfortable with, but honestly it was fine
The party timing is pretty generous and when half the combat mechanics are focused around it you HAVE to learn
Parrying is way harder when games give you a million other options because then you don’t really have a strong motivation to bother
Talk to me about Space Marines
So the story of Space Marine is the least important part of the game
You’re here to fight the aliens but secretly chaos was behind it all along so now you have to fight chaos too
The characters are flat. The dialogue is dry
But like who the fuck cares
The entire game is carried on the good mechanics and the phenomenal atmosphere
You’re an unstoppable super warrior fighting against impossible odds
The entire horizon rises up to fight you and then it LOSES
There’s a part towards the end where you form a firing line with like twenty other space marines that’s literally aiming into Hell
Unlimited daemons charge out of it and get gunned down while you defiantly hold up the ragged Ultramarine chapter banner against all odds
