I’ve had the high concept of the character in my head for a while

High on my bucket list is “spaceman going incognito in a fantasy setting”

SO

On the neighboring planet to cultivator land is an advanced sci fi civilization of “aliens” (they also look perfectly human don’t worry about it)

They have a unit of like super badass elite combat cyborgs

Strong vibes of Battle Angel Alita

One of them gets it in his head that he could use his advanced technology to set himself up as a god king on the backwater civilization next door

And steals a space ship to go there

So my guy is the agent they sent to neutralize him

But to make this relevant to cultivation

My guy tried to confront this guy only to find out he wasn’t just a combat cyborg anymore, he was not a combat cultivator cyborg

And had his power cells ripped out in a really gnarly way that almost killed him on the spot

(They’re both guys in my head but like genders are all written in pencil)

so then he has to start over at level 1 using spirit cultivation instead of cyborg powers?

Now he has to learn to power all his electronic subsystems with spirit power

To defeat someone who has spirit power and also a high efficiency fusion cell

He’s using the built in cyborg systems but with a different power source than intended

and then layering new cultivation powers on top of them at higher ranks

Which lets him do things he couldn’t normally do with just one or the other

Yeah

Anyway I’ve got a TON of character concepts for a game like this so we shall see how things play out

ngl, me and Lily have been work shopping a progression fantasy oc for ages, which is why I've taken a keen interest in the project

Concept two: a guy trained up to the very first tier and then quit cultivation for like thirty years

Spent them working in his home town as like a doctor/guardian/carpebter

Never felt any strong urge to advance until one of his assistants got some kind of supercharged advancement relic and went mad with power

So now he’s gotta shake off a lifetime of rust and rekindle the ambitious spark that is needed to ascend

So he can stop his power hungry student from doing anything irreversible

progression fantasy is good.
