/ My coworkers have had really bad days this week. So I had them in stitches all shift.

Main coworker had some drama with her kid that I won't get into. And you all know about the Store Leader.
So today, I got to be a dead pan snarker.
Not entirely on purpose. But I'm very good at it.

It started early on, right after I got in and we were having a quick conversation. And one of them was talking about how you need somebody who can lift you up when you're down.
Me: <sighs> I don't have anybody like that. <beat> I'm too heavy.
Nearly had them both on the floor because they weren't expecting it. But I'm betting they both needed that laugh.
Then, around...11. We got a guy outside who decided to sing for his supper.
Which would be fine. Except he was VERY not good at it.
It was funny for the first song or two.
But he was at it about two hours.
So I kept making comments. Not loudly enough for him to hear, I don't think. But my voice does carry in the shop.
So things happened like him singing "Somewhere Beyond the Sea" and I would reply, "Sounds good. You should go there."
Or the opening line of "He Ain't Heavy (He's My Brother)": The road is long. With many a winding turn.
Me: Well, you better get going.
it's a great feeling when you can give someone a laugh who really needs it.
I had them to the point of tears to start with. I felt really, really good about that.
You should!
Sadly, I think my thanks might be getting the SL's cold.
