So in the Book of Bill, we have Ford in the mindscape and Bill torturing him, making Ford forget his own name and his m0th3r's face and all that good stuff

But in Gravity Falls, we have Dipper and Mabel and Soos going into Stan's mindscape and pretty much overpowering Bill

How does that work?
Does Bill have more power in your own mindscape, like, if Dipper goes into Stan's head, Bill and Dipper are both outsiders and have the same level of power? And if Bill is the only one in Dipper's mindscape, Bill is still the more powerful one?

Or did Ford just
like
never figure out that he could use the mindscape?
If he didn't, I don't blame him, because there's been so much manipulation by Bill before Bill ever revealed himself to be a threat, so it'd be a "learned helplessness" thing
But I really hope that isn't the case because he's already made a lot of dumb choices XD

Maybe it’s that someone has more power when you willingly let them in? Ford and Dipper both made deals to let Bill in, so he had more power over them. Or maybe it was that their deals specifically involved Bill’s use of their bodies, whether they realized that or not. Stan didn’t give anybody permission to be there, so they were all intruders and

equally powerful.

I hate that it cut off that close to the end

or they’d rob each other I’m not sure

Stan would made a revolted sound and drop kick Louie across the room before realizing he isn't a threat

He’s absolutely convinced he’s a little monster who’s gonna turn on them, because what else would you assume about a small duck child, and when he finds Louie messing with stuff in the gift shop he almost whacks him with a baseball bat before Louie starts explaining how his adjustments will make Stan more money
