(We even had a very Dungeon Meshi moment in that game. We had Ilphyl, a goblin rogue, a hobgoblin fighter, and a half-elf bard who had just killed giant spiders. The goblin swore he knew how to cook them, so he did so with seasonings he kept in his pack.)
Picture three adventurers of 'stereotypically evil races' chowing down on jerked spider, while the half-elf bard looks on in horror from her trail rations. (And Ilphyl making jokes about their blasphemy bucket list.)
the worldbuilding in that series is just. An inspiration to me as a DM and writer
also just funny as I was about have Harlock ask those questions (his earth has a strongly implied ecological collapse)
so he's just 'well questions covered, let's not jump on him'
Yes. I need to actually read/watch it, because it hits strongly in thigns I like.
Also, Ilphyl figures that the world is big enough that they aren't going to make more than a local dent, but unless there's migration, those seem like the kind of species that take forever to grow up, so better to be careful.
(Also the Empire seem like the sort of assholes who would not care, but the main saving grace is they seem to think the ocean is barely worth paying attention to.)
Dungeon Meshi is just so wonderful. If you like fantasy but also like things like D&D and Wizardry, you'll probably like dungeon meshi
I mean, I also am a giant Slayers fan, so it's definitely been in the 'if you like Slayers, check out Dungeon Meshi'
it'll probably be a couple of years til season 2 is out, but the manga has been out for quite some time. The Adventurerer's Bible is also excellent and filled with even more worldbuilding and stuff they just couldn't put in the manga
oh yeah, it's like, slayers but more wholesome
also woo woo on another slayers fan! We do exist!
well... more thematically wholesome. 10x more violent
it's weird to say but it really is a celebration of food and how food brings people together. I love it so much
Senshi would also be concerned with proper animal husbandry so I asked the mods "hey how have the Corsairs dealt with this"
one of the major character points of him is that he's concerned with the ecology of the dungeon and overharvesting would definitely be on his radar
he's very much an environmentalist. And even though he eats the monsters, he understands there has to be balance
