Fredday's been taking his inhaler pretty decently for a few weeks.

He doesn't like it. He'll run if he sees it and doesn't WANT to do it, but he'll ACCEPT it once it's happening or if he's already laying down.

He requires a reward after (treats of sorts), but yeah.

He'll push it away at breath 7 or 8 and he needs 10 breaths, but I do get the full 10 breaths in by the end of it.

Then he'll go to move, and then look at me like, "Okay. Treats now?" xD Like. Just expectantly, "I did my part."

I really wanted to get to the point of him COMING towards me when it was time, but like. Could not get to that point, sadly.

Would be nice to have him eventually accept and just "wait for it" sort of thing, but yeah.

Having to do twice a day lately, due to coughing, but hopefully can go back to once a day again.

I'm noticing he coughs on days that my allergies (?) are worse, so... I'm like, "Ahh, okay, so I can keep tabs on his needs through me?" So there's that?

yeah, the only way I get Tinyfoot to take her meds is treats. Her meds taste awful, so I lure her over with treats, spring the meds on her, then give her treats for the aftertaste.

I wish my girl would take treats before or after, she won't she is a stubborn girl. I'm so glad Fredday is doing good, I hope eventually he is able to accept it, and realize its not so bad, and goes by quick, and there is a guaranteed treat after.

shesays_: Yeaah. If it's the "bad tasting" meds, he wants NOTHING to do with treats until the flavour is completely out of his mouth - no matter how rewarding. Thanks!

metaljean: ;; Poor kitties. Bad tasting meds SUCK. Can't say I blame her, but ;; I know she has to take 'em. I'm glad she at least sticks around for the treats!

Update: He's been taking the inhaler for a little over a month now! He tries to run if he's standing and sees me with it, so I have to try to do it while he's laying down. Then afterwards he'll immediately look at me like, "Okay? And my reward...?"

He still wants to push away at breath 8-9, but he needs 10. Still manage it, so that's good!

Hasn't needed it twice a day in a few weeks, so that's also good.

He really is! The funny thing is he wants the treats/rewards so badly that at the time that he expects it, he'll come yowling at me and meowing or trying to get my attention, but as soon as he sees the inhaler he's like "Nope!" but will "accept in defeat" once I got him. Then immediately, "OKAY NOW TREAT? :-D "
