[Doctor Who] in a bit of a curveball, I feel like watching K9 and Company, a one-off that's included in the BluRay set for Tom Baker's final season.
The opening is very 80's, emphasizes K9 a lot, and reuses the same five shots of Elisabeth Sladen.

Surprised that Sarah's aunt Lavinia was shown; I figured she was the sort of character who's never shown on-screen.
The reason why I wanted to watch this was because I listened to a 10th Doctor Big Finish story where Ace wound up getting a K9 from the Doctor. Not sure if the Doctor gives K9 to some of his favourite classic-era companions or the ones most likely to get into trouble haha.

Sarah's reaction to hearing that K9 was from the Doctor put a smile on my face.
Between the robed cult and the small British town obsessed with one specific topic (and acting really conspiratorial about it), I'm getting Hot Fuzz vibes.
Henry Tobias (the editor of the local newspaper) is clearly suspicious, though the woman who's being nice to Sarah Jane implied that Lavinia is dead, so that woman's probably in on the conspiracy too.
The Greater Good - Hot Fuzz - Best Versiona bunch of people in the town are resorting to witchcraft and human sacrifice to improve their crops.
Either it takes a long time to travel to the churches in the area or time is jumping around a lot in this episode.
The battle with the cultists is hilariously anti-climactic.

Aunt Lavinia is alive and it turns out that her friends the Bakers weren't in on the cult.
Even if it had only lasted for one season, I would have been interested in a series of Sarah Jane and K9 traveling the country and investigating oddities. The theme song is a little grating, though.
