I'm sure.

Gotta do DB clean up first, that's scheduled for Friday.

There's still going to be bugs and I'm sure to get some QoL improvement requests, but this thing is now about as good as Quark if not significantly better.
It is absolutely better than Quark because it doesn't use Quark XD

jantra: true, but if it can't be actually used at all for LARP stuff it's just going to languish and fracture things worse
You're absolutely thinking on the wrong course here.
Quark is 1) something we either have to pirate or purchase 2) has a massive ass learning curve 3) the vast majority of LARPers, even just GMs/sheet writers, don't know how to use it and/or don't have it.
On top of: pirated/expensive fonts
If we missed something it needs to do? We code up what we missed.
Quark was a dead end path. This is anything but.
AND on top of that, the google drive is a difficult to manage, difficult to find the latest stuff catastrophe of shit.
Better than dropbox but not better than a real DB

This is mountains better than quark, which, on top of everything already said, is unreliable at best. Either with crashing, version compatibility issues (sometimes with itself ) or just not working on some systems when the Win11 push was happening

Something accessible for literally anyone, regardless of system, is something that's been so desperately needed. This was entirely necessary and with loads of improvements on top of that

Once we're over this hill, the next step is of course, setting up the pre-reg system...which is going to need a LOT of input from the head GMs concerning the set up list of what's playable/not playable at any particular LARP.

It'll make the tagging system even more important for people to remember to add for all of the series' and characters
Realistically, the characters don't matter to the pre-reg.
It's 100% the series.
except for ZKKLARP because of our themes and we have to be difficult lol
Otherwise, a series is going to be 'sentai' or 'anime' or 'manga' or 'non-japanese anime' and all the characters in that series will be allowed if that series tag is allowed.

There's exceptions to every rule. But yes the main yes/no option will be series based.

I think, with characters, it's mainly having NPCs tagged so they never show up on player lists. Otherwise, yeah, the rest are more important for ZKK in terms of prereg
I think NPCs all get the "GM Only" tag

That sounds right. As I said, the only one for characters that'll matter across the board as far as I can think of
It's tough because, in reality, we have to be really careful with the terms we use for our themes each year (like the difference between 'performer' and 'physical performer') and we don't necessarily want to completely overload the system with a lot of extra tags over the years.
Some things are easy. "Alien" "Monster"... but that diff between "performer" and "physical performer" is less so.
On the other hand, we may just need to adjust our way we do pre-reg and players will need to understand we may need to reject characters a lot more.

Yeah, I think you'll need to come up with your own system for getting existing sheets that fit the theme on the pre-reg list every year, if you even want to bother with that.
My thought is if we picked "performer" as a tag in the system, right? And we decide "physical performers" are what our theme is, we can okay the 'performer' tag and if the character is not what we consider a physical performer, reject the character.

It's up to you how you want to do it. I won't even start on the pre reg until we're a good ways into the dump cleanup process.
Oh yeah, I'm just brainstorming.

You'll have time to mull it over.
We'll be relying on the blanks most of the time (aka: asking for a new character).
though if ZKK's pre-reg could have a 'please tell us why you think this fits the theme' textarea just for us... that would be awesome. XD

I'm sure. but yeah, new pre-reg system's going to make is so much easier to keep track of who registered what and can also interact with the DB to make a placeholder sheet if that's what's wanted, thus you can keep track of the process on all the pre-reg sheets in one place.

and if a sheet exists, you can manually link it.
