which basically means she's got all the fucking symptoms but there's no fucking evidence when she got opened up
and they removed iirc one ovary, the fallopian tube and her appendix, but Lefty got left behind
but now lefty is developing a cyst and the tube is wrapping around it and it's just going as hard as it can fucking up for elle, so now it looks like at the very least the tube will need removing, if not the entire ovary
and the tube also had a fluid blockage which apparently might have been caused by the previous post-op infection
oh no 8( wishing her a MUCH BETTER time with this surgery
LUCKILY she is going to a different hospital this time, and her surgeon is fucking amazing and not charging her for this follow-up surgery, plus our insurance means she's already paid up on the hospital excess so we're not paying out of pocket for that again
well thank fuck for that at least. Man, she's sure having a time
hope this goes absolutely textbook perfect for her
Oh no! I hope this surgery goes a lot better than the last one
the thing is the surgery did go perfectly, bc her doctor is damn fucking good at her job, it was all the hospital follow-up that fucked us over
i've already booked in time off for the week after her surgery
Well hopefully THAT goes much better this time then
Oh no, that sounds awful. I'm glad it'll be okay financially. I hope she recovers well and fully this time!
fingers double triple crossed
our biggest concern is that it'll lead to a double oophrectomy, so no ovaries, which will lead to a lot of massively increased symptoms of menopause a lot earlier in her life
Oh shit I feel that so hard, I had lefty removed because of a giant cyst and now righty is doing the giant cyst thing again
Hoping for the best for y'all!
Thank you for the occult endometriosis phrasing because now I have lots of new questions to ask my doctor!
no elle i'm the only one allowed to cause you pain
tell your body to knock it off
jfc
I hope this one goes smoothly and infection-free!
Airdra i love that "occult" is a technical medical term meaning "we can't fucking
see it"
Holy shit! Best of luck to you both
oh wow jeez. I wish the best for her and hope she'll pull out of this complication free
I'm just over here like "evil spirits, got it"
"cursed ovaries sounds about right"
i first learned it in context of occult fractures where there's definitely pain from a broken bone but it's not showing up on xrays
this might be my first time encountering the term, I was off googling that so fast
"ohshit that sounds super relatable I need more info"
full disclosure i am literally just slapping medical terms together so
it did bring up some results when I searched! And it is an angle of discussion lol
I was told basically that it was just a little endometriosis that destroyed the left ovary so it's not like I'm pulling "maybe it's endometriosis" out of nowhere in my case lol
"hey doc could there be more that cannot be seen" seems like a valid line of questioning lol
the problem with adhesions (possible from endo) is that they don't fucking show up on ultrasounds
so usually the only way to verify their existence is by invasive surgery
between my wife and my job i am accruing so much medical trivia
jeez i'm really hoping this goes well for her and that this hospital doesn't royally fuck up like the last one
ugh that's awful, I'm sorry she's going through this! hope it all goes well
oh no all the fingers crossed here for no fuckups
