I'm posting this for two reasons, one, because it has probably one of the best jokes in the whole show (if you've watched it, I'm sure you'll know instantly)

Two, because the ending is very

I think the thing I appreciate the most about the Meta is like

RvB 1-5 made some attempts to be serious but was mostly a very jokey show, especially with its villains.

The Meta tells NO JOKES.

He just shows up, kills everybody and leaves. He's a very unfunny character which is very appropriate for what the show was trying to be at that point.

Which is kinda weird cause from what I remember of the Freelancer seasons, Maine actually could be pretty funny in the right situation.

maine was excellent at like… i don't know what to call the type of humor. where someone just raises an eyebrow like 'really? really?' and the other person digs themselves deeper

also throwing little huffy tantrums lmao

And they somehow conveyed that all through the character's physical acting cause like.

You never see Maine's face. And I think he manages to get back to "can say a few gravelly words at a time" for....one episode?

iirc he says all of 6 words in canon :')

after that, it's all body language and growls. and he still says so much with those. i'm forever impressed
