this week is officially cursed. woke up to find the heater/furnace quit working during the night 🙃
edit: good news was false alarm, having to go buy space heaters. fuck I'm so over this week
latest #33
so started the week with one vehicle suddenly dead. ending with probably needing to have a whole new hvac installed
and all the garbage nonsense in between
and my sister and brother-in-law are driving up tonight for the weekend lol

the hvac is the original one so it's like 20 years old at this point I think, so it's not a total surprise just didn't want it to die during winter
of course my mother is a wreck this morning, crying about him (we normally have the furnace serviced in Oct but since he died...) and her leg/back pain already bad
she's going to drive me up the wall today

/hugs you all for warmth lol
very grateful for the electric fireplace in the basement this morning. otherwise I'd be worried about the pipes
took a few hours but it's up to 64 at least
now to hope the hvac people call back soon
omg no what a nightmare
oh thank goodness, the guy was able to replace a couple things and we have heat again
we're just going to go ahead and replace it while the time is right and not try to limp through the winter but so glad it was something that could be fixed in like 30 minutes
apparently the guy who serviced last year (different company) was full of shit and stuff should have been replaced last year
I'm just so glad this didn't happen in Jan/Feb when it's usually so cold
and that safety features do their job because apparently it overheated during the night and turned itself off 😬
kinda unnerving to think about, ngl

Definitely glad for safety features and a tech who's willing to call out shit being done wrong.
guess who has to go buy more space heaters tonight
so some motor is bad and when it kicks on it wants to shoot the flame in a bad direction, causing the safety features to kick on and shut it down
sounds like the earliest they can have someone to possibly put in a new hvac is Monday, maybe
of all the weekends to have company. sigh
but at least it's supposed to be 30s maybe 40s Sunday, teens at night. so not horrible. just going to have to juggle heaters on and off and the fireplace cause obviously can't have that running for 3 days
