meanwhile mistletoe is ONLY used for the kissing thing and it's pretty much 100% fake plants now because mistletoe is SUPER toxic

the way I remember it is mistletoe is the long stuff that sometimes has white berries. holly has the short pointy leaves and red round berries.

mistletoe is extra weird because it's technically a parasitic plant. around here we see bundles of it up in trees it's leeching off of. maybe that's why it's supposed to be hung traditionally- it naturally ends up in trees a lot.
