[DQV] I've no intent on joining, I'm just theorycrafting a hypothetical here.
Big conceit is someone who was powerful before, but class changed into Gadabout to pursue their dreams of being an entertainer.
You could go one of two ways with the backstory
One: They were some big force of good back in the day who got rewarded for his services with a trip to Dharma Alltrades Abbey, and took an early retirement
Two: They were the weakest of the demon lord's quartet of doom, but got the gig due to their high potential to become the new strongest. They instead jobbed and watched the whole thing burn
Either way, their leveling gimmick is that they decide to dip into their old bag of tricks to fight, supplemented by the typical zaniness(sp?) of the Gadabout class
Alright, had some time with it to percolate in my head, read the background stuff, let's crack this
Our dude's backstory is that he showed up in a tavern about 9 years back, about a year after the big throwdown between Elika and Verga. No one had seen them before, but he suddenly took the comedy world by storm.
As far as Gadabouts and Jesters go, he's clearly a neophyte, he had admitted to getting his class change officiated not two days ago, but his style and intent was so polished and cutting, it was almost as if he had practiced the craft for decades.
The truth? He's actually one of the Big Four, having fused himself with the body of one of Elika's comrades, his direct rival.
They had been friends before the curse overtook him, having come together over a love of entertainment, but the war had taken that and turned it rotten.
I'm iffy on the how of it, but I like the idea of mutual sacrificial spells colliding in a way that caused something strange to happen, resulting in the amalgamation
The monster that possesses the body, I feel, should be one where a love of entertainment would be playing against type, so not one of the cutesy monster lines, an undead of some sort, maybe.
I haven't really thought harder than that on this one
I had another that had more focus on class change abuse to try and discover the self, creating something unique out of the generic classes while slotted onto a suboptimal frame
but the idea kinda starts and ends there
