26. He fears his people being captured more than he fears them dying. He dreads torture and the aftermath of it which is why his 'tests' are torture; he's trying to inoculate his people

27. He thinks he'd prefer the truth no matter how ugly. In reality he can't handle honesty as well as he thinks, and he responds better to careful lies
28. I think Pope hasn't lived up to his own ideals in a long time and he takes that out on his people, demanding they be better than he is.
4. It's actually hard to gain his real trust! He'll extend a hand first and he's good at getting people who are ready to kill each other to get along. He can talk his way out of bad situations pretty easily. But he holds people at a distance
7. Birthdays make him nostalgic! He had a couple of good birthdays in the group home, but it's bittersweet for him and he'd rather not feel nostalgic if he can help it. He tries instead to live in the moment
