WHAT A ZANY AND FUNNY SHOW

For the record, I sought out an online posting of the manga and literally the next second when the scene returns to Momo she will get out of it

Leaving it like that was absolutely fucked and even though she’s fictional for my mental health I had to know

But just, wow, that choice of where to end a season

Everything else about the show is so great which is why I watched to the end of the season but I don’t think I’ll watch when it returns. Why does the show need to repeatedly do this?

the first and last episode both feature a group of men physically assaulting Momo with the clear stated intent to rape her

and like both times she fights her way out of it

but like, it is completely unnecessary

the rest of the anime is good in so many ways so I gave the aliens abduction scene in episode 1 a pass

like ok its a one time thing

there is a scene in the middle of the anime where they rip all the clothes off the boy co-protagonist with the stated intent of cutting off his junk, and then he has to fight them naked, but it didn't feel the same way

but the last we see of Momo in the last episode of the season she is being cornered by herself by a group of men at a hotspring, and they literally tell her their intentions as they close in on her and a man is holding her down in the water and that's the last we see of her before the episode ends

and like, this is a zany action-comedy-romance anime

in the scene in the first episodes its space aliens looking to reproduce and they don't understand human morality so I can kind of understand how it's supposed to be funny even though it really isn't

but the episode 12 scene is just hey let's have 5 big middle-aged men (who are maybe not human) just bust in on this girl in the bath and be like "hey have you heard about how girls by themselves at hot springs will get targeted by groups of men?" before doing exactly that

like why is this scene even in here?

to show that they are the bad guys?

there are lots of ways you could have accomplished that
