The doc told me that I should be giving Eva whole milk instead of 2%. Eva doesn't like whole milk. So the doc was like well giving her 2%
will make her anemic. Do you want to make your daughter anemic?
It wasn't even my regular doc, i had NEVER met this woman before. UGH
he made you feel bad? like its your fault.
she made me feel bad about the milk. She also was like your daughter (loralie) is in the 95% for her weight and height. She doesn't miss a
Umm she is a growing child. I don't care if its 95% or 50% she is healthy.
yeah, umm...you're the mom. she can suck it.
f*ck that..dont pay any attention to that
Eva is 30" tall. Loralie is 25.75"! HOLY CRAP!!! LMAO I think Loralie is going to be taller than her sister!
They also only have 6 pounds difference between the two.
Milk In GENERAL doesn't have a lot of iron in it, rather it be skim or whole.
Most is iron fortified, so any of it is going to give you basically the same amount of iron. I'm sorry, but I'm anemic and I drank whole
she said that she needs the extra fat because she has lost weight since her 1 yr checkup. I looked at her and said, she JUSt started walking
of course she is losing weight!
milk until I was about 9 when it started making me sick and had to switch to skim.
and not for nothing whole milk is soooo high fat and calorie, better to not have her get used to it
Chuck read up on anemia and all that and they said that between ages 1-2 drink whole milk to help their brain development.
then at 2 switch to any type of milk.
Eva does not like whole milk, I give her what she wants. So I will give her an extra glass of milk a day. Oh well.
If she was worried about anemia, she should have recommended soy milk, she doesn't sound very knowledgable
You are doing fine in my non-parent opinion.
wow...I'm sorry the doc gave you so much crap V!!! I agree with Dani, you're busting your butt raising those girls the best way possible.
I think it is fine that Eva drinks 2%, at least she is drinking milk. Ashlyn is bigger then Braydon was at 15 months, she's almost 23lbs
when Braydon was 19 lbs at 18 months. Shes taller too, kids grow at different paces
she also was like "oh.. well hmmm" like demeaning wise when I told her that Eva has only been walking a month and just got her teeth
I swear sometimes doctors are around to make us feel like shit. I have had one doc here make me feel like complete shit but none of the
no doctor knows your kids like you know your kids so they can screw off you know whats best for the girls!
umm, it sounds like she was trying to cover the fact that she doesn't know what she should by acting like a know it all
forget that hun! liv never had whole milk and she is 2 and the only thing she is behind in is her speach
i would have been pissed. hellmy mom had us kids on 2% at 6months and my brother is going to school to be a lawyer
Okay, I was told by the nutritionist that was seeing Brehnan to figure out why he had lost SO much weight and she said
Brehnan should really only be drinking no more than 8 oz of milk a day/
Yes b/c the ages of 1 and 2 they should be drinking whole milk for the fat b/c it helps brain development, BUT it's NOT going to kill
your child if they drink any other type.
As for the anemia comment that's BS. B/c anemia isn't caused by not drinking whole milk b/w the ages of 1 and 2.
That Dr needs to go back to school.
I know. and she just infuriated me. Only 8oz a day of milk? Aren't we as adults supposed to drink 3 8oz glasses a day?
VirginiaA: yes, but we are also bigger. The kids get smaller portions b/c they are smaller. I asked the same thing you did.
Keola drinks 2%. But I also still give him formula. So he gets the nutrients he needs.
I'd also call and report that doctor.
