would rather be safe than sorry, though—especially in low-lying coastal regions. Returning home embarrassed at over-reacting beats
getting caught in a life-threatening situation with no realistic chance to escape.
yeah, but they should wait til it's important...makes people very unwilling to leave when it is so mild...then when it's important, they
won't heed the warnings...just like "the boy who cried wolf".
that's one reason why I temper any weather news with experience and looking at NOAA reports.
also lucky enough to live high enough above sea level and inland enough to miss the worst of most hurricanes, and has had enough
tornado experience to know when to really be afraid and when just to be nervous.
I've had a lot of meteorology training and I've lived in Nebraska...I do know about tornados...nasty things, those...
lived in a trailer park as a child and experienced the wrath first-hand. We had a tiny part-basement when I lived in Battle Creek (in a
house at that point) and spent way too many nights hudded together in it, listening to the keening winds.
