not sure I understand how their flickr backup works... they keep a file on amazon and their engineer can "restore" your flickr acct?

well, I don't get that part either. It does backup ever photo in your stream (originals for pros) to their servers.

I like the concept not so much for the awkward restore options, but for the "owning your own data" ideology.
