been out for lunch, I've just felt more an more awkward. Do I stay for drinks, or do I make some excuse and go home?
And if I go home I need an excuse

Stay!! The more times your seen, the more chance you've got of hitting a subject/life experience you'll have in common 
I just feel sooo damned awkward!! Doesn't help that I don't live in the area

yea.. but then again, that might be a good thing if they aren't that great a crowd. 
they're not the best. Very cliquey, which is great if you fit in, but I don't. And I'm already looking around for another job
