when he walks is he 'walking/running is it on his heels" of on the balls of his feet? Is he stomping down on his heels?

no to that one. I spoke with a chiro-today. He said it sounds like Severs disease, not really a disease.

but said more than likely with him growing, his acilies (SP) tendon is stretching away from the bone

he said ice and antiinflametory med/herbs will help... We do that sort of stuff and have success, so will try!
