The weird thing is I have had most of the students in other classes and they have never been as bad as they were today.

I also had a pretty rough time Monday with pretty much the same group of kids.

Might it just be that we are nearing the end of the year and the students are getting restless?

There are a couple of different scenarios. It could be the combination of kids acting certain ways when they're around one another.

It could also be the the regular teacher doesn't have effective classroom management skills (they're a bit crazier for that teacher anyway).

What supports does the school provide you with as a sub?

That's what I'm thinking GingerTPLC. Which multiplies exponentially because the students don't perceive there will be consequences anyway.
